Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent invites you to participate in the 25th Annual Fall Pediatric Continuing Medical Education (CME) Conference
The Peyton Manning Children's Hospital Fall Pediatric Conference provides continuing medical education for Pediatricians, Family Medicine physicians, and Advance-Practice Providers who provide primary-care for pediatric and adolescent patients. Presentations cover a wide range of topics to allow practitioners who care for children to further their knowledge and to share their experiences with peers as we all strive to provide the best care possible to our patients and families.

“Seizures and Seizure Mimics in Infants: When to Worry”
Dr. McGuire is a pediatric neurologist and has been at PMCH for nearly 15 years.
She grew up in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and was an Army wife for 10 years prior
to attending medical school. She went to medical school and completed her
residency at IU/Riley hospital. She enjoys the full spectrum of practice in
pediatric neurology and is grateful to her many inspiring patients for making her
want to get up every day and come to work.
Dr. McGuire has received the Medical Excellence Award from the Epilepsy
Foundation and Physician of the Year from Briezy’s Bunch. Her greatest
accomplishment however has been getting both of her children out of the house
and gainfully employed in careers outside of medicine. Dr. McGuire lives in
Carmel with her husband of over 30 years and their dog Wrinkles.
“A Review of Otitis Media and Pediatric Sleep Apnea”
Dr. Scott Phillips grew up in Logansport, Indiana, attended Butler University, and
studied medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine. While at IU, he also began his career in the United States Air Force, a decision that would positively affect his career for years to come. Following medical school, Dr. Phillips completed his training to become a Flight
Surgeon for the US Air Force, providing search and rescue team medical medical
support in Special Operations and subsequently on NASA's Space Shuttle Rescue team and than also served as Deputy Chief of Bioastronautics for the Air Force, where he assisted with rescue plans for future NASA missions. He retired from the Air Force in 2015, after 28 years of Active Duty and Reserve service. He continues today as an aeromedical consultant for both the FAA and NASA.
Dr. Phillips finished his otolaryngology residency in 1997 and completed his Fellowship in Otolaryngic Allergy in 1999. He now focuses his practice at the
Ascension Medical Group Center for Ear Nose Throat and Allergy in the areas of Pediatric Ear Nose and Throat Disorders and Sinus/Nasal Health, and has done so in this position since 2001.
“Pediatric Infectious Disease Update”
Dr. Christopher Belcher is a board certified Pediatric Infectious Disease physician
from Indianapolis, Indiana. He achieved a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from
UCLA with College Honors, and was awarded his M.D. degree from the University
of California, San Diego School of Medicine. He was a resident in pediatrics at
Stanford University, and split his pediatric infectious disease fellowship between
Washington University in St. Louis and Stanford University.
Dr. Belcher has been in Indianapolis since 2000, as a partner of Infectious
Disease of Indiana. There, he is the Director of Pediatric Infectious Disease and
the Director of Travel Medicine. He is the Director of Pediatric Infectious Disease
at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis, where he is also the
Infection Prevention Director and Chair of the Quality and Safety Committee.
“Gallbladder in the Pediatric Population”
Evan Kokoska grew up in Riley, Indiana (a suburb of Terre Haute) and stayed in town for an engineering degree at Rose-Hulman. After spending a year involved with medical missions in Bolivia, he was in St. Louis for 11 years for medical school (Wash U) and General Surgery (SLU) training and came back to Indiana for additional Pediatric Surgery training. His first "real job" in 2003 was at Arkansas Children's Hospital where he had an incredible experience managing a wide range of pediatric operative conditions. He had the opportunity in 2008 to return to Indiana to be closer to his aging parents and thus started his tenure at PMCH.
He has been married to his wife Mimi (an ENT surgeon) for 30 years and while both his daughters are also training in medicine, neither wanted a career in Surgery (ER and Derm). He is never bored in his free time and enjoys farm work, archery, motorcycles, exercise, and photography.
“Navigating the Maze of Services After Autism Spectrum Disorder Diagnosis”
Jessica Green, MD, is a pediatric neurodevelopmental specialist with Peyton
Manning Children's Hospital at Ascension St Vincent and provides care for
infants, children and teens with developmental disorders, including: attention
deficit hyperactivity disorder, behavioral problems related to developmental
concerns, developmental delays, intellectual disability, speech and language
disorders, and autism spectrum disorder. In her free time she enjoys hiking and
mountain biking.
“A Changing Landscape: Advances in Therapies For Sickle Cell Disease”
Angeli Rampersad, MD is a pediatric hematologist with Innovative Hematology (home of the Indiana Hemophilia & Thrombosis Center) based in Indianapolis with a network that reaches across Indiana. Dr. Rampersad completed her residency at State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, and her fellowships at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Cornell University. Dr. Rampersad’s expertise and special interests include sickle cell disease, hemophilia, HHT, thalassemia and other hemoglobinopathies.
“Clinical Presentations of Common Pediatric Orthopedic Pathology”
Dr. Wilhite started working as a pediatric orthopedic surgeon at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital in 2012. Prior to working at Peyton Manning Children's hospital, he completed his orthopedic residency at Indiana University and pediatric orthopedic fellowship at Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital in Orlando.
Dr. Wilhite and his wife have lived in Brownsburg for almost 25 years and have a son and daughter, both of whom are in college.
